As we jump into this shopping heavy season, I wanted to share some pro-tips on how to shop the sales over the next several weeks.
Sales are exciting – for myself included.
Who doesn’t love designer pieces at high discounts?
Unfortunately, it’s way too easy to go over-board.
Most people are hypnotized by sale tags. They over-purchase, and often on pieces way below their their style goal criteria.
They justify the big spend with the “massive savings” that come with it, and then…
everything sits untouched, and often unwearable in their closets.
So…
before you jump online and go HAM with your credit card this weekend, here are some tips to navigate the sale spell.
Take inventory of your closet
What pieces can you let go of that no longer align with the next level version of you?
What pieces make you feel like a badass when you wear them?
Where are the gaps?
How can you fill those gaps in ways that align with your style goals
Shop sale, but shop it with purpose
If you realized when you took stock of your closet, that all of your denim is over 5 years old, and that some new, higher quality denim will elevate your look, and feel amazing to wear, then add that to the list of sale items you’ll be on the lookout for.
If it smacked you in the face that you own 20 white v-neck t-shirts that have never been worn, then I lovingly invite you to release 17 of those options, and forbid yourself from buying a sale white tee.
When you shop with purpose, you find and invest in clothing that
you will love,
and actually wear instead of unusable pieces that take up permanent space in your closet.
Pair it up
Before you buy it, think of 3 ways you can wear it that will
make you feel like a boss.
And if you can’t, delete it from your cart, and move on.
Happy Shopping!
