I have to be comfortable in my clothing. Period.
I have to be able to move freely, and simultaneously feel confident in what I’m wearing. This has become a necessity, and something that I instill in my client’s minds as well. You can be authentically you, stylish, and comfortable at the same time. And you should.
I LOVE wide-leg pants. Cropped or full length, they elongate your legs, are incredibly comfortable, and add elegance to any outfit (even if you pair them with a band tee).
I prefer mine high waisted to balance out my proportions, and also because I like pairing wide-leg pants with cropped tops.
Styling is my preferred creative outlet; needless to say I love putting together outfits for myself. But there are certainly days where I need to be somewhere “now”, or I legitimately don’t have the energy to get dressed – and I have to. Wide leg pants fall into my “effortless” category. I can throw them on, pair them with a cropped sweater or t-shirt (french or fully tucked – learn what a french tuck is here), my favourite jewelry, and I’m good to go.
Bonus – you can wear wide-leg pants with flats or heels depending on how casual or dressy you’re feeling.
It’s important for me to have go-to’s for the days I’m not feeling the most energetic, let alone creative. Catching my reflection in an outfit that is an authentic representation of my style, and also feels like a second skin is life- giving; it’s empowering
