Let’s be real. Summer is THE hardest season to dress for. And after spending months in sweatpants, this transition feels even more foreign than it has in the past.
As the weather warms up and we are forced to “de-layer”, finding comfortable and lightweight pieces that are silhouette-enhancing can sometimes be tricky.
Here are some go-to style tips that will make it a little easier.
The Culotte

Culottes are a great option for summer AND they work for every body type. They flatter the silhouette by cinching and emphasizing your waistline, skimming your hips, and creating a line that mimics that of an A-Line Skirt.
At the right length, they’ll cut off above your ankles. Paired with a heel or a strappy sandal, you’re legs will look longer, giving you an overall elongated silhouette.

The Midi Dress

Midi length dresses are a great staple all year round, but especially during the summer months. Another no-brainer, they’re easy to throw on with earrings and a watch, and your shoes of choice.

For the coming months, I would opt for lighter fabrics like cotton or linen to stay cool. Look for dresses with a waist defining seam or details.
Pro tip: Throw on a belt; this will enhance your shape, and make you look effortlessly tailored.
If you’re lucky enough to be able to layer in the evenings, a leather jacket or a lightweight duster coat are great options to throw on top.
The Bermuda Short

Bermuda Shorts are THE perfect option if you’re not ready to re-introduce your legs to the world just yet. They’re on-trend, comfortable, AND come in various office appropriate styles.
